my sweet hummingbirds

sweet hummingbirds poem by steven james humphreys

I planted wild flower seeds years ago

they still stand tall growing their red petals

and the hummingbirds hover sticking their beaks into them for their nectar

(even though I have a feeder filled to the brim with hummingbird nectar)

wonderful view maybe three or four hummingbirds at one time

with wings fluttering it seems a thousand miles an hour

is so pleasing to the eye

their color

their innocent beauty

they harm no one

they fill my spirit with love

one of my sacred pleasures of life

and God gives his stamp of approval.
