up in the northern sky

up in the northern sky poem by steven james humphreys

are you as lonely as we

sitting on bar stools

in corner beer bars?

like a string you hang

up in our most northern sky

after last call for alcohol

we stagger to our cars

so small we both are

perchance

in time of night

we gaze awhile

at each other

under your

inebriating

lonesome

cold

twinkling

light.
